About Us

Oaktree Print was founded in 2006 by Martyn O’Brien and Mustafa Cetiner.   The business specialises in printing, graphic design and brand development.    We are dedicated to offering our customer the best possible service, advice and support.  Since we began we have strived to expand our product range and design team and now offer a wide range of printed products and as well as expert graphic design.

 

While some printing companies are closing down, Oaktree Print is growing and offering better services, more products and we are actively taking on more customers.   We believe that we are succeeding by offering a personal service, expert design and advice and because to go that extra mile to ensure that our customers needs are met. 

 

Our online service is a small part of our business model, as we offer a more traditional service.  We like to meet our customers whenever possible, either at our offices or theirs. This enables us to understand their needs, their ambitions and aspirations, and for us to advise them accordingly.  Having this personal contact allows our design team to work more effectively, taking into account the personality of the business they are designing for.  This also allows us to look at new concepts and ideas and to announce these to the most suitable customers.

 

Background

Initially the business began as a retail shop in Wood Green, London.  The business did well but we found that despite being busy and having a good customer base, the cost of the rent, rates, service charges and so on meant that there was very little profit.  Also, being in a shop prevented us from offering a truly professional service.

 

Starting a new business is no easy task, and there are many obstacles and challenges to overcome.  Martyn and Mus have had some very difficult times, and have had to make sacrifices to overcome these.  They have considered giving up on several occasions, but they are both passionate about the business and their customers and have instead battled hard, invested extra money and work long hours to turn things around.   

 

In 2008 the business was re-invented and relocated to Basingstoke, Hampshire.  This was an extremely challenging time as closing a shop and setting up new offices required extra investment.   The move has proven to be a huge success, the new offices offer a betting working environment and more space, and the business is now growing and is able to work more closely with our customers.  In 2009 we will need to move offices as our team and equipment are growing and so we will soon need more space.

 

The Future

When choosing a printer, you are choosing an essential supplier to your business, and it is important to know therefore that we will be here in the future to support you and to help you develop you brand, designs and marketing as your own business grows.  We are committed to this and will be here for many years to come.  We are now planning on bigger offices, new equipment and will continue to expand our support and design team.  We continue to learn from our experiences and customer feedback and will use these experiences to make the business even more successful.

 

About the Directors

Martyn and Mus has been friends since secondary school.  They are very different people and while Martyn is ambitious, confident and has many ideas, Mus is controlled, focused and precise.  They have completely different skill, ideas and ambitions, and yet together they make a formidable team.

 

Martyn O’Brien

Martyn has always been ambitious and has always wanted to own and run his own business.  From just 6 he started talking about business ideas, back then it was just a dream, but the desire never went away…

He has never enjoyed studying and found school to be boring.  He started a degree in Computer Science but he found that the majority of what was being taught was a waste of time, being taught how to multiply in Roman Numerals was the final straw and he quit the course and went off in search of work.

Starting work at the age of 12, Martyn has always been self reliant, making money from washing cars, small cleaning jobs and gardening.  When he was 16 he joined McDonalds which was thoroughly enjoyable.  He then moved to The AA, Carphone Warehouse, and Orange.  He opened his first business in 1998 at the age of 25.

He now offers business and marketing consultation, and has recently launch several new businesses that encompass Telecom's, Book Keeping, Office Supplies, and Website Design.  To find out more, please visit his website: www.martynobrien.com

 

Mustafa Cetiner

Mus is the backbone of Oaktree Print. As Director of Design and Production, his extensive knowledge of and experience in the printing industry are invaluable.

 

Mus is a highly talented illustrator who studied Illustration at Northbrook College. After college he joined a printing and stationary company in Islington where he worked for over 7 years and acquired his encyclopedic knowledge of the printing, design, stationary and IT industries. Leaving was difficult decision to make after 7 years in a job he loved, but it was time to move onwards and upwards.

After reassessing his career options he met with Martyn and together they created Oaktree Print. The winning combination of Martyn's business acumen and Mus' technical know-how make Oaktree Print a shining star of the print and design world!
